Polygonatum biflorum

Solomon's seal is a beautiful shade-loving perennial. The smooth Solomon's seal can be found growing wildly in rich, moist woodlands in Central and Eastern U.S. It spreads by rhizomes to form large clumps of arching foliage. Dainty bell-shaped flowers run up and down the length of the stems.

Polygonatums are considered medicinal plants - historically used in traditional Native American and Chinese medicines. The folklore surrounding them is vast and intriguing to study.
